Why wedding photography?

beautiful locations What is it about Wedding Photography in general that makes us want to do it again and again and again? I am pondering this question after reading another photographer’s advert, which states that the most satisfying part of being a wedding photographer to him/her is when the couple view their album for the first time and have joy on their faces. I guess that for every professional person the satisfaction of doing a job well ranks very high, but WHY do WE do it?

Trashing the Dress at Mpekweni

Trash the Dress? Now why would anybody want to trash a wedding dress you might think? It sounds like something that a wife might do after having a huge fight with her husband, not something you would imagine a just married couple enjoy doing!?

Hats off to brave Carmen and Le-Royé that not only had the courage to destroy (maybe they could save it) their wedding attire, but also brave some fairly cold water in the process! (The week before the wedding the Eastern Cape experienced some bitterly cold weather, and it surely had it’s effect on the water temperature).

The love and emotion the couple shared and displayed on their wedding day continued the day after at Mpekweni Beach Resort and thus allowed us to capture some amazing pics.

…And there is a pic in the shower right at the end!!!

The Jack Russel pup decided that Carmen looks much more friendly than it’s owners and joined the bride on the sand dune.

The Bride (or Groom’s) Dressing Place

anname_jaco_252 As Wedding Photographers, we are honored to be invited into the bride (and sometime the groom’s) dressing place to capture the wealth of emotions and moments surrounding the final hours of ‘singledom’.  As the bride is laced up into her dress by her coterie of bridesmaids and her mother looks on adoringly before the final touches are applied, the photographer has the unique opportunity to capture these intimate moments.
