Lauren and David Engagement Photo Shoot
Some of you may remember the promotion that we ran during last year’s Blue Lagoon Wedding expo. One lucky couple won their wedding photography package and the lucky couple was Lauren and David. They then decided to have an engagement shoot in order to use some photos for decoration at their wedding.

Caval and Eugene’s 1950′s themed wedding
Glamorous, Stylish and Romantic – fitting adjectives to describe the wedding day of this loving couple. About 6 months ago we met Caval and Eugene during their engagement shoot that was styled according to the 1950 Hollywood theme. A theme that was carried across to their wedding on the last day of 2011. If anyone was considering an engagement shoot before their wedding, then you only have to look at the images of this wedding to realise the benefits! Not only was the couple relaxed and confident in our presence, but they made extensive use of their e-shoot photos in the decorating of their cake and reception venue! As the engagement shoot was also of the same theme, everything blended perfectly and added to the themed atmosphere. To take everything that one step further, the bride changed from her formal wedding dress (used for the ceremony) to a glamorous Hollywood style satin sheath dress for the reception. As wedding photographers we love detailed weddings like these as it gives us an opportunity to capture the moments with more detail than ever.
We were even inspired to add our own little details – we are not usually fond of props – but the temptation to throw in some classic Coke bottles into the portraiture shoot was just too big to resist…

Caval and Eugene’s 1950′s style engagement shoot
Caval and Eugene surprised us with their preparation for their engagement shoot today.
Costumes, accessories and attitude, everything to guarantee some great photo’s and a good time. The 1950′s was a time of class style and romance, this is also the theme for Caval and Eugene’s wedding and of course the engagement shoot we had today. We met up at Caval’s home at 09:00, went to an old railway platform and then visited the Ann Bryant art gallery.

Tracy-Lee and Leon engagement shoot
You can perhaps gather that this past weekend was quite hectic for us, matric fairwell on Friday, Gonubie 10′s on Saturday and Sunday. Then there was Tracy-Lee and Leon’s engagement shoot on Saturday morning! Although they do not want to share how they met (I wonder why??), the fact that they are stunningly in love, cannot be denied. We have been scouting around recently for some exciting locations for shoots (it seems studio is out and location is in…), and the location of this shoot has been in my mind for a few years now. Tracy-Lee and Leon is mysterious, and nothing says mysterious like old buildings…
