Bulie and Mheza’s spiritual summer wedding in Stutterheim
We got up earlier than usual for a Saturday. Mia’s nanny stayed over the previous evening and was ready to keep the kids company for the day. Batteries were charged, lenses were cleaned, memory cards were formatted. Everything was ready! I was almost (but not quite) amazed at my own excitement about using the new Nikon during a full length wedding shoot!
We departed for Stutterheim, looking forward to meeting Bulelwa and Mheza as we did not have the opportunity to have a pre-wedding interview with them. We arrived at “the house with the white flag” according to Bulie’s directions, and was immediately welcomed by family and friends gathering together to escort the bride to the church. When the Maid of Honour showed us Bulie’s beautiful dress, we just knew that this bride has STYLE!

Why wedding photography?
What is it about Wedding Photography in general that makes us want to do it again and again and again? I am pondering this question after reading another photographer’s advert, which states that the most satisfying part of being a wedding photographer to him/her is when the couple view their album for the first time and have joy on their faces. I guess that for every professional person the satisfaction of doing a job well ranks very high, but WHY do WE do it?
