Nomsa & Simphiwe’s Emotion filled wedding at Fish River Sun Hotel

One of the reasons why we love photographing weddings and why we always will, is that it places you in the position to be a storyteller.

Weddings are more than just beautiful photographs, it is also about the story behind it all.  A wedding should be more about the tears of joy, love between the couple, pride in the parents eyes and happiness shared by everyone present than just the beauty of it all.  Nomsa and Simphiwe’s wedding at the Fish River Sun Hotel was one of those weddings where both beauty and emotion reached a climax.

Vuyo & Arthur – Alexander Golf Club East London

We met Vuyo the day before her wedding at her family home. She was radiant but a little bit concerned about the weather as a cold front was predicted for her wedding day. Sure enough, Saturday morning was freezing cold, but when we arrived at Vuyo’s dressing place, we were met only with tangible excitement!

Nicole & Warren 2 July 2011 {Summer love that grew strong}

We met Warren and Nicole at Ryan and Lauren’s wedding in January.  As Marius walked past Warren at the wedding, Warren remarked “That is the guy I want to take my wedding photo’s”.  So on Saturday, the 2nd of July we found ourselves on our way to Kei Mouth for Nicole and Warren’s big day.  Warren and Nicole is an absolutely wonderful couple to work with. I went along with Warren to take some “getting dressed” photo’s and he made me feel right at home from the start. With their warm and outgoing personalities it was no wonder they had such a fun and relaxed wedding.

The cost of wedding photography {How much should I pay?}

This topic is a touchy one for most photographers and soon to be wed couples alike.  When browsing through photography blogs and forums, the debate about pricing has intensified over the past few months.  I can only guess at the reason for this, maybe the global economic crisis?  Whatever the reason is, you as a bride or groom need to know what you pay for.  So often I’ve heard couple’s complaining about their wedding photos, but then find out a “friend” or uncle captured their wedding day for them.

Love under the African sun with a dash of German tradition

Lauren and Mark lives in Durban, but traveled to East London – Lauren’s home town to get married. Lauren was an exceptionally beautiful bride with her striking blue eyes and she had one of those wedding dresses that just takes your breath away – absolutely gorgeous. The couple made it clear that they wanted the focus of their day being on their family and friends having fun and enjoying their wedding day, and they clearly achieved that, as everybody was dancing and having the time of their lives at the reception.

Byron and Charleigh’s Port Elizabeth Showcase Wedding

Port Elizabeth is not called the “Friendly City” for nothing, as we were met with smiles, spectacular weather and beautiful locations when we traveled down for Byron and Charleigh’s wedding in June. We met the happy couple for the first time the night before the wedding and immediately the love between them were tangible.  Byron was a hand’s on groom and was in charge of a lot of the wedding’s planning, and we were impressed by the young couple from the start, as they knew exactly what they wanted and what they expected from us.  As we left that evening, we could hardly contain our excitement for the next day.
