We took this weekend off and found some enlightenment in Hogsback!
While scouting Hogsback in the Eastern Cape (about 90 minutes from East London) for locations for an upcoming wedding in September we found some unlikely inspiration and some food for thought.
We’ve had a wonderfully exciting and busy day. Firstly, Caval and Eugene’s engagement shoot, then a short break and off to Santa Paloma for Janine Oates‘ fashion shoot of her latest wedding dress designs. Four models, beautiful dresses, a lot of organising and help form Madelene and Jacques (Santa Paloma) and beautiful make-up by Colleen made the perfect team for an unforgettable fashion shoot. Thanks to all of you! Hope we can do it again soon. BTW – Girls in wedding dresses on a 4×4 Game Drive = Lots of laughter and Janine in damage control mode (with possibly a few heart attacks as well)! Thanks for that one Jacques…

We’re in the business of capturing and showing true love with our images. Tanya and Shaheed once again made our work a breeze. Challenging us was the fact that the portrait photos had to be taken after sunset on the beach! After the sun kissed us goodbye with it’s last rays on the horizon, high ISO, large apertures and slow shutter speeds were at the order of the day. We had lots of fun at this beautiful couple’s wedding, and the honesty of their emotions captured our imagination.
What is it about Wedding Photography in general that makes us want to do it again and again and again? I am pondering this question after reading another photographer’s advert, which states that the most satisfying part of being a wedding photographer to him/her is when the couple view their album for the first time and have joy on their faces. I guess that for every professional person the satisfaction of doing a job well ranks very high, but WHY do WE do it?
Zee and Roelie got married at the Moon and Sixpence in Johannesburg. The rain held out and the predicted thunderstorm did not transpire! True love makes our job the best in the world!
In the years that I spent in the UK, I fell in love with the Irish People, with their jovial hospitality and uninhibited friendship. Keah and Rory is no exception and the smiles were real, the stories tearful from laughter and their love pure and true.
Location of choice was Cintsa East Beach and the reception was held at Michaela’s at Cintsa East. And do not forget their lovely Baby Girl!
