Kate and Marius’s wedding in Hogsback – Environmental with vintage flair
And finally our third and last wedding of an exhilarating long-weekend – Kate and Marius provided not only romance, vintage style and environmental awareness, but also the most relaxed and laid back atmosphere that we ever encountered at a wedding. Capturing the story of their wedding was more like winding down after a busy week, and allowed us to return home that evening feeling refreshed and ready for the week ahead.
A special moment for them was when they planted a Fuchsia Tree (not the shrub) after the wedding ceremony. Kate (in her vintage outfit), wearing a classic pair of gardening gloves, helped Marius to plant the tree that symbolize the beginning of their marriage rooted in the solid earth of their faith…

Celacia and Kevin’s Wedding at the Premier Regent and Cascades Hotel
For the second wedding of this weekend we were blessed with some dramatic cold, rainy and windy weather- something most wedding photographers dread. The Lord’s blessing lies therein that we had the opportunity to photograph the lovely couple’s portraits indoors – something we rarely have the chance to do in our sunny South Africa. The perfect setting was provided by the Premier Regent Hotel with a grand piano, beautiful chandeliers and very high ceilings!
Celacia and Kevin truly proved their impeccable classic flair, that started with their traditional catholic wedding ceremony, and included their choice of venue and their romantic wedding attire. Truly a wedding fit for a prince and princess!
Neli and Refiloe’s Classic Garden Wedding at Gonubie Manor
This is the first of three posts about three weddings in one weekend. Yes, it was a long-weekend, starting with heritage day on Friday! Neli and Refiloe planned their wedding perfectly in order to combine the traditional and the classic into one perfect day. Gonubie Manor was the setting for their celebration and Sammy made sure that the couple’s every wish came true. As wedding photographers we love it when couples show their true emotions, as we can only capture true feelings and special moments when they happen – isn’t that what our love for weddings is all about? Neli and Refiloe’s emotional ‘walk down the isle’ gave us plenty to capture and their pure and true love was visible to all…

Janine Oates Couture Fashion Shoot at Santa Paloma – updated
We’ve had a wonderfully exciting and busy day. Firstly, Caval and Eugene’s engagement shoot, then a short break and off to Santa Paloma for Janine Oates‘ fashion shoot of her latest wedding dress designs. Four models, beautiful dresses, a lot of organising and help form Madelene and Jacques (Santa Paloma) and beautiful make-up by Colleen made the perfect team for an unforgettable fashion shoot. Thanks to all of you! Hope we can do it again soon. BTW – Girls in wedding dresses on a 4×4 Game Drive = Lots of laughter and Janine in damage control mode (with possibly a few heart attacks as well)! Thanks for that one Jacques…

Tanya and Shaheed at the Blue Lagoon
We’re in the business of capturing and showing true love with our images. Tanya and Shaheed once again made our work a breeze. Challenging us was the fact that the portrait photos had to be taken after sunset on the beach! After the sun kissed us goodbye with it’s last rays on the horizon, high ISO, large apertures and slow shutter speeds were at the order of the day. We had lots of fun at this beautiful couple’s wedding, and the honesty of their emotions captured our imagination.

Why wedding photography?
What is it about Wedding Photography in general that makes us want to do it again and again and again? I am pondering this question after reading another photographer’s advert, which states that the most satisfying part of being a wedding photographer to him/her is when the couple view their album for the first time and have joy on their faces. I guess that for every professional person the satisfaction of doing a job well ranks very high, but WHY do WE do it?
Zee and Roelie – 28 March 2010 – Moon and Sixpence
Zee and Roelie got married at the Moon and Sixpence in Johannesburg. The rain held out and the predicted thunderstorm did not transpire! True love makes our job the best in the world!
Keah and Rory – Cintsa – 13 Feb 2010
In the years that I spent in the UK, I fell in love with the Irish People, with their jovial hospitality and uninhibited friendship. Keah and Rory is no exception and the smiles were real, the stories tearful from laughter and their love pure and true.
